Bio

Luis Felipe Reyes, MD, MSc, PhD is a critical care physician-scientist with extensive academic experience in infectious diseases, critical care, and translational research. He holds an MSc in International Health and Tropical Medicine from the University of Oxford and a PhD in Translational Science from the University of Texas. Dr. Reyes is a Distinguished Professor of Infectious Diseases at the School of Medicine, Universidad de La Sabana in Colombia, where he also serves as Director of the Unisabana Center for Translational Science (UCTS). He holds a clinical and academic leadership role at the Clínica Universidad de La Sabana, a university hospital committed to advancing research and innovation. In addition, he is an Honorary Research Fellow at the University of Oxford.

He has published over 160 peer-reviewed manuscripts and has served as Principal Investigator in multiple randomised controlled trials and multicentre observational studies in Colombia and Latin America, focusing on pneumonia, sepsis, and emerging infectious diseases. Dr. Reyes is an active member of key international research networks, including REMAP-CAP, ANDROMEDA SHOCK, and LIVEN, and leads a multidisciplinary team supporting PhD and MSc students in translational research.

He also contributes to global research leadership as an Associate Editor for several international journals, an International Advisor to The Lancet Microbe, and an external advisor to PAHO, supporting efforts to strengthen clinical trial capacity across Latin America.
