Bio

Ed Waddingham is a Research Fellow and senior statistician at Imperial Clinical Trials Unit (ICTU), contributing to the design and analysis of a range of studies including several planned platform trials.  Ed’s research is focused on developing and deploying novel statistical methodology in clinical trials, pharmacoepidemiological studies, and to aid medical decision-making.  His current and recent portfolio covers disease areas including critical care, mental health and multiple sclerosis.

Ed has been based at Imperial College London since 2011, and holds a MSc in epidemiology and a PhD concerned with the application of Bayesian multi-criteria decision analysis to the benefit-risk assessment of medicines.  He is a committee member for the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Statistics Working Group on benefit-risk.
